Oh, this is so good! There's nothing quite like a concert! I've heard Kacey's music before, but don't know it well enough. It's beautiful to hear it like this. Also, love that she was barefoot!

Thanks! I recommend “Sway” from Deeper Well album and “High Horse” - opposite of the spectrum music. Both were so good at the concert but I didn’t have a chance to record. It’s part of being height disadvantaged at concerts and in life (in case you couldn’t tell from video clips and the back of the head I was getting from the person!)

It looks like you were pretty close though.

Kacey is such a natural fit for Chappell Roan's music. More than a few country artists (Kacey, Orville Peck, Old Crow Medicine Show, Willow Avalon) have covered her songs, which I believe is proof of my theory that Chappell is writing country songs in not-so-cloaked disguise. I think they're seeing the same thing I'm seeing...

It’s a fair assessment that her work might point a little country! And also that country singers have the chops and range to cover her vocals. It’s definitely making a statement as well as far as embracing queerness which for country music as we know it isn’t a given

Excited for you that you enjoyed the concert this much. Happy to share in your Swifty experience when it comes around.

Love a lot of her stuff, in particular "Lonely Weekend" "Slow Burn" and "Justified." She also does a great duet with Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys on a song called "Guess You Had to Be There" from 2015. "Golden Hour" is definitely my favorite of her albums. Not a Swift fan so I'm good without the live stuff. (Sorry!) The closest I've been to an artist on stage might have been Aimee Mann or Rufus Wainwright. I also met Tori Amos in an elevator once. Does that count?!

Thanks! Tori Amos - do tell? Did you say hi?👋

Also I forgive you for not loving Swift.

I think Golden Hour is tops for me too though “Follow your arrow” is my gateway song to Musgraves

Yes, we were in an elevator at Heathrow airport. My husband was talking to me but I noticed this red haired woman in the corner of my eye. I turned and it was her! She couldn’t have been nicer. I said I had just been listening to her then latest album “under the pink” while on the plane. She said “oh, I can sign that for you.” She was in town to record a duet with Robert Plant for a Led Zeppelin tribute album. I believe she was with her manager. She also offered me 10th row center tickets for the next time she came to Chicago, which she did later that year! I contacted her manager and got the seats! it was all quite thrilling because I was really into her at that moment.
