Kacey Musgraves' "Deeper Well" - A Musical Scrapbook
Disrupting this 'stack with a Musgraves takeover -Recorded video clips from her live show in Boston from the Deeper Well tour.
If you weren't a Kacey Musgraves fan before, these clips will change that. After attending her Boston concert on September 7th, I felt compelled to share her music with you in a musical scrapbook format. Musgraves, the talented country-folk-pop songstress, masterfully explores a range of complex emotions with her perfect pitch and ethereal voice. Her modern chic style for the evening which boasted a new "Flintstones,” aesthetic I was unacquainted with was striking—think Wilma or Betty. And yes, she performed barefoot all night. I'm in awe. I wore padded Hoka knock-offs and my feet were pretty much bleeding after standing for so long.
Justified! A classic from her divorce album.
Fast forward to second 45 - “Rainbow” was her closing song so she talks awhile beforehand, notably about her disdain of the pretense around encores. I’m vibing with this sentiment. Why pretend? Just end it.
BONUS! A cover of Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club. For more on Chappell Roan and the Gen Z female artist of the Summer, check out this piece below 👇
“Kill Bill” by SZA with Nickel Creek, her opening act:
