Is Eastwood finally slowing down— literally— in his storytelling? He’s wonderful when it comes to a true story.

He’s 94!! He’ll slow down in the next life maybe.

Beth, I am SO with you on this (and you made me chuckle, I know that Tom Cruise look - I had one on my team once). I'm actually sad that this is likely Clint's final film, not a way for him to close out his brilliance.

Oh that intensity! Glad you enjoyed. Here’s to more chuckles in 2025.

I felt the exact same way about the film! It had a good premise, but an overall disappointing execution. There were so many holes.

I did jury duty in 2023 & jurors could be excluded simply by having read about the alleged offence in the media, because it implies bias. Following that line, with questioning as to how he knew about the incident in the bar could have made the story much more interesting. As it is, it's a completely flawed storyline.

The fact that they weren’t sequestered for what seemed like a high profile case was weird

I abandoned this as soon as the premise became apparent. I think you're right that it could have been overcome with a decent story arc or some excitement, but I found it hard to stay engaged.

I hear that. It wasn’t bad but it was leaving me wanting! I was hoping for the twist

The movie is done well I think. The story line however is pretty mid. I would also cast someone else for the main role. Hoult gives me a poor man's pretentious Hugh Grant vibe....
