I have had the podcast on my app for over a year and still haven't listened to it yet. Maybe you could write a piece on podcasts adapted into series? I know it's not completely original. But perhaps you might pick three? I thought that season 1 of Homecoming was excellent. I loved the podcast. Dirty John I only saw season 1 and it was better than it had a right to be, but certainly not up to the podcast. I might limit it to fiction podcasts. Or true crime podcasts. I'm full of ideas for you!
This is a good find. I had no idea that The Dropout or Homecoming were podcasts. Have I been missing out on this scripted fiction or non-fiction category? Apparently. It's right up my alley too. I recently gave a musical podcast a try based on a recommendation from another Substacker - https://ew.com/podcasts/2017/07/10/jonathan-groff-musical-podcast-36-questions/ and enjoyed aspects of it. It helped that it was Broadway legend Jonathan Groff and Jessie Shelton, who has a spectacular voice. The "horomedy" genre is an interesting one too. It's a good audience/fit for all the true crime podcast followers out there too, of which we know there are MANY.
I suppose nowadays everything is a podcast, so the topic isn't all that unique. But performed fiction podcasts are rarer birds, so that one appeals to me. And true crime podcasts are a dime a dozen but good ones aren't. I love the term "Horomedy" or what I like to call "Comror." Yeah, horomedy is better....:)
Empanada Loca is such an interesting play. I read the script a few years ago and dug it, but thought to myself, "Who are they gonna sell this to?" Sounds like they figured out how to make this more of a narrative. Thanks!

Exactly! It’s also benefited from some positive reviews too. I think it’ll get a second season renewal
