The ten-episode delectable revenge series has a 99% Rotten Tomatoes score & it's easy to see why. It gets at fundamental truths about personal drive, the middle age grind and the happiness myth.
I am so excited to watch Beef. Probably more than any other series that’s recently come out. And that includes a few of my favorites, such as Yellow jackets and Dave. I just wish I could pause real life for a few weeks so I could just focus on TV. I’m so behind on even a short list of my long list of shows to watch. I feel like I have to finish You first. I’m on episode eight so I’m getting there.
Bryan watched Beef without me and loved it! It was a little intense for me. I have a sordid past with rage, so it was difficult for me to watch without absorbing all that intensity.
I'm slowly getting through Beef and will then read your piece with true attention....I am at episode 5. It is so good I want to savor it. It's way more cinematic and unpredictable than I expected. And so many layers. Ali Wong is a revelation. And Steven Yeun I already knew was amazing but reveals a whole new palette of colors to the hues of his acting chops. And the supporting characters are also so well portrayed. I know I have a lot coming ahead. I'm trying to savor that Las Vegas episode.
Ugh. Season 4 of "Barry" is about to start soon. And I was gonna get rid of Peacock since I finished poker face, but now "Mrs. Davis" is about to start. I have to wash any anything Damon Lindelof is involved in. like you said first world problems.
We have Paramount Plus too which I can’t remember what that gained us when we signed up but feel like we never pay as much attention to it as we should. If “Yellowstone” were a thing for us it would make sense. Then again, rewatched “Mean Girls” - this time with my tween daughter. So I guess I should finish “Poker Face”? I’ve put it down again and not picked it back up yet. Too much TV...
I think that I more or less am watching at most 2 shows per service each month so in a way I'm thinking of it like each series is about 5-7 bucks. Hulu has been in the lead for me. It used to be HBO. Now it's Substack by a large margin!

Thanks for the feedback Jen. Ariel (my husband ) watched it on his own after I watched it and liked it. I hear you on the rage-mosis.
