First up, I inhale Fredrick Backman's books. I even found his blog a few years ago (not sure if it still exists), where he posted some stories that weren't published. He's so honest about his own experience with anxiety, but like an introvert who gets out there on front of people, it's hard to fathom when you only see it from the angle of promotion.

I am grateful to have read "Ove" first, then seen the Swedish film before Tom Hanks got his hands on it. I will definitely look out for this show.

That passage from the book hits me so hard you have no idea. Swimming lessons starting for my 7 year old next month! Putting this on our TBW list!

Diana, your kiddo will learn how to swim. And it’ll feel like everyone else’s kid is getting there faster and somehow made in a way that makes them more conducive to the art of swimming (like part fish). It’s kinda analogous to all kids’ extra curriculars and that parental concern. It doesn’t totally go away but it dissipates over time!! Good luck and take solace in that it will happen. As with anything it’s just a matter of when.

Thanks so much, Beth... going to copy paste that to the skiing lessons that just started last week! And the training wheels that still need to come off. Sigh...

There are those training wheels moments at other life stages. It’s good practice. It’s tough though I know!
