Loved this piece! It's so unique! I also think this show explores the idea of love in such a beautiful way, both demonstrating the passionate adolescent love that we see building between Anne and Gilbert, while also exploring the more subdued, nostalgic love that we see in Matthew, and also in Marilla.
Yes! Thank you. You get it. I love all the variations of love represented on this show. The fact that Matthew chooses to ultimately spend his time being a dad to Anne vs pursuing a romantic path with Jeannie in the present also speaks to the power of manifesting our paths and destinies. Matthew, as a child, was a victim of circumstance with the untimely death of his older brother and parents, which ushered in adult responsibilities at a young age, which interrupted his crush on Jeannie. As an adult, he has rediscovered his heart in his love for Anne and his care for her, and his pursuit of parenting.
I enjoyed reading these prompts and responses. Thank you, A & Beth for both sharing your insightful comments.
