Welcome to Beth's Exceptional Video Playlist. The point of this Substack is a place to delve a bit deeper into the immersive experience of film and TV. In addition to recommendations on what content to stream and why, I go deep on certain themes (social, political, cultural) and analyze how TV and film have a way of connecting us emotionally.

In a prior life, BK (before kids), I wrote for a series of publications on TV, film and pop culture. I’ve also published a book on the TV show, “The Apprentice.” My favorite podcasts to listen to are “Smartless” and “The Prestige TV Podcast” from The Ringer. My favorite shows of late are “Shrill,” “Station Eleven,” “Ozark,” and “Tehran.”
