Bad Sisters, Do Revenge, and The Redeem Team
Intricate revenge plots, triumph of good v evil fantasies, and Kobe being King Kobe
Disclaimer: This is a really long post. I haven’t written one in a while. Deal with it.
My revelation of the week: How I show up for Pickleball is how I show up for everything. Stick with me for a moment and I’ll bring us back to the point (a few paragraphs down). Maybe it’s the Fall weather, watching my son doing what feels like full-time soccer, me consuming too much sports analyst commentary while watching too much American football and preseason NBA basketball. Not to mention, our family’s current fascination with Welcome to Wrexham on FX on Hulu, which details the ups and downs of owning a piss poor soccer club across the pond brought to us by celebrities’ Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, co-owners of a down-on-their luck Welsh team. Queue spoiler: The men know nothing about soccer. They are from North America, after all. Hence, it’s less about the game of European football and more a story about how fans go crazy for their teams, rebuilding a community around this club and hope springing eternal with influx of cash, fame and celebrity that Ryan and Rob bring.
